The Franco Harris Memorial Park plans to span 27 acres in Franco's own community, offering scenic trails, green spaces, and memorial features that honor our local NFL legend--while providing convenient outdoor activities within easy walking of the village.

The Plan has two phases: a Quiet Phase seeks 11 Sponsors to raise 56% of the Goal. The Lead Gift of $160,000--20%--was given by 84 Lumber. We now seek 10 donors to each sponsor one acre for $32,000. A Public Phase will follow. Franco Harris Memorial Park is a registered PA non-profit and gifts are IRS tax-deductible.
With its convenient location in the #1 rated small town in the entire Northeast (USA Today, April 9, 2026), Franco's Park will serve as a permanent tribute to honor the man who made what many consider the greatest single play in the 100-year history of America’s favorite sport. And while there have been many great NFL players, Franco’s Immaculate Reception remains its greatest play over 50 years later.
And unlike other undeveloped river-view properties from Pittsburgh to the Ohio border, this 32-acre woodland sits right in town. Opposite Osborne Elementary School on Beaver Street, the park will offer a panoramic hillcrest view of the Ohio River and its picturesque bridge, and be within walking of the village shops and restaurants.
Franco Harris Memorial Park is a registered Pennsylvania non-profit created to raise tax-deductible gifts to to pay for the land and sponsor the Park with the permission of Franco’s family. Local media have also covered the Park project, including KDKA-TV, the Post Gazette, Pittsburgh Magazine, TribLive, and The Sewickley Herald.
Upon the campaign's conclusion, the 32-acre Franco Harris Memorial Park will be given to the Hollow Oak Land Trust, a 30-year licensed land trust in Moon, PA. The Trust will own, develop, and manage the Park and its amenities in perpetuity as part of its Greenway Initiative. The Major Donors will also be permanently recognized on an exclusive Wall of Fame.
